Long Distance Membership
The club offers a reduced membership rate for members living more than 25 miles from the Harefield site. This offers full membership rights, but is reduced on the assumption such members are unable to attend as often as more local members.
The subs for long distance membership are £50 per year. There is no joining fee for new members. However if a long distance member later moves closer to the site and becomes a normal member they would be expected to pay the joining fee at that time (this would not apply if the member had originally lived closer and previously paid the joining fee and maintained membership of any type since)
Applicability
To qualify for long distance membership you must
- Be able to fly to the standard of the BMFA 'A' certificate. (It is not intended the club provides extensive training to long distance members; this is aimed at existing pilots)
- Have no residence within 25 miles (40.23km) of the Harefield site, which is approximately the circle marked here:
