West London Model Aeroplane Club

Club rules

At the 2013 AGM it was unanimously agreed to introduce a club constitution to formalise our current operations and help protect the club in case of any future problems.

The club rules cover safety and flying rules.  These are reviewed by the committee each year and generally re-issued with minor amendments in around March.

The constitution describes the basic organisation of the club and can only be amended at an AGM/EGM.  Five minor amendments were passed with large majorities at the Dec 2020 AGM.

Helicopters

This bulletin is a reminder of the rules for helicopters on the main flying area: Helicopter Bulletin

Users of the separate helicopter area should have an induction session with a suitable committee member.  The important information here.

CAA documents

Under our article 16 authorization if you are relying on a BMFA A-cert to fulfil the CAA's competency requirement, then you should have your membership card with you as proof of the cert.  Note that from 2021 for this to be valid you must have logged into the BMFA portal and ticked the box about Article 16.

The previous exemption documents from 2019-20 which were - in theory - required and were in the club hut are no longer applicable, as these rules have been superceded by the Article 16 authorization.
